In the northern part of the island, exactly halfway between the town of Rab (6km) and Lopar (5km) is bay Supetarska Draga. It is one of the oldest island places with especially rich maritime tradition surrounded by the nearby islands full of sand and shingle beach, good restaurants, environmental products, accommodation on land and sea, offering everything for the small boater.
In Supetraska Draga is oldest Benedictine church on the island St. Petar.
Supetarska Draga is divided into three parts Upper and Lower Supetarska Drago and Gonar. A rich history has left its mark in today's settlement, and therefore at each step you can find a rich historical ruins.
Beaches
The crystal-clear Adriatic Sea and indented coast make the entire island a unique seaside resort.
In the charms of the pleasant sun and clear waters around the island of Rab have enjoyed the English throne Edward VIII and his companion Miss Simpson.
On the island everyone can find a beach to its own taste or age: rocky in the western part, pebble beach on the east and sandy in the northern part of the island.
Gonar has a beach of smooth stones, sand and concrete.
